August 2022

FSY. Abby had the best time at FSY. She did not want to come home. One thing she learned was how to make memes on her phone. I sent her some funny pictures that Kyla took on my phone and she sent them back like this.

And she's off

first one to her room.

She had to bring her own bedding, all we had were Tinkerbell sheets. Hahaha. Oh well.

She got to choose her bed first. Found out that her roommates name was Lily and they go to school together, but didn't really know each other.
She made some good friends!

More memes

Beside learning how to make memes, she said that her testimony really did grow and get strengthened. She learned a lot and really did love it.

Somebody really missed her big sister.

We did a painting together

Korra did a lot of the painting herself. I would outline things for her and she'd paint it in. I did paint the cone lines and put the highlights on, but really she did the rest.

Abby got her learner's permit!
We did do swim lessons. Mia and Lily and Korra. This was Korra's first time and she did not like it really at all. She was a super difficult child and told her teacher no a lot. To give you an example of who she was the teacher asks the kids to get their faces wet. Showing them to put their faces in the water, blow bubbles, etc. Korra got water on her hands and brought it to her face and was like yep, I got my face wet. She did not pass....

We got to go to Lagoon with my family! The older girls went off on their own this year while Eric and I hung out with Korra.

One of her favorite rides.

Least favorite ride. It terrified her.

Lily was scared after the ride, but enjoyed it and would do it again.

We got to watch Gwen and Landon for a little bit. Got the turtle out. Gwen was a fan from a distance.

Lily going off the diving board

Fair time. The girls have wanted to enter things in the fair for a long time, but I have always slacked off. But not this year. Kyla entered a cake, pictures and a painting. Abby entered a painting and pictures. Mia tie dyed and sewed a pillowcase. Lily entered a painting and so did I (my children insisted)

Besides entering things in the fair we also walked around and enjoyed it. The girls did go on rides, but no pictures of that.

I was determined to go find the hobbit caves before school started. So the weekend before school started I packed up my kids and a lunch and we went searching. We found the spot easy enough, but parked on the wrong side. So we took the hard way across the river and didn't find the caves until we hit a dead end and headed back and saw it from the other direction. But they were actually pretty cool and we enjoyed playing around for a while and the waterfall was nice. Heading back we crossed the little make shift bridge and it was much easier.

Kyla fell and decided she wouldn't get up for a bit.

Even though Kyla doesn't like to pose or smile for pictures, Korra is the one who is the most difficult.

Enjoying a campfire and smores in Newton
Can't take this child anywhere. The stick was stuck to her hand.

A sky full of stars. We have some awesome views in Newton.

Kyla's got invited by one of her friends to go boating. She got to water ski for the first time and did alright.
