Track

Abby and Kyla did track this summer.  They had practices and competed in meets.  They preferred to compete in the standing long jump, softball throw (shot put but for younger kids), and the 50 meter dash.  Abby qualified for district in her age group, she didn't advance after that but still did a good job.

We've been playing this summer and not just alone, we went and visited our old neighbors from Logan and playing in the water and trampoline.

Kyla's Birthday

Kyla turned 8!  She picked her birthday dinner and made it too.  Hamburgers and homemade french fries.

Eric found a turtle in the middle of the road one night and now we own a turtle.  He did try to find the owner, but no one would claim him.

Girl's Camp

Girl's camp was fun, but we did have some very scary moments.  We went to Lava and stayed on the property of one of the leader's parents.  It was so peaceful and beautiful up there.  We stayed in tents and went on hikes and had devotionals, did some crafts and bonded.  Lots of laughs.  On our 3rd day in our young women's president had a very serious accident.  We were planning on using a neighboring property's zip line and water slide later in the day as an activity.  The leader and her husband went over to check it all out and make sure it was going to be ready to go for later in the day.  She was on the zip line and was unable to stop or slow down and smacked into a tree...hard.  She broke a total of 22 bones, including ribs, shoulder, back and collar bone.  One of her lungs was also punctured.  None of the girls were there to see this happen and she was able to get to a hospital and is now doing very well considering.  She was in the hospital for 6 days before she could go home.  She has to wear a back brace and sling, but no surgery is required.  There were many prayers for her and her family (her two girls were at girls camp)  and also for some of the young women in our ward who lost there mother the night before girl's camp started.  Priesthood blessings were given and my faith had only been strengthened in the power that the priesthood is. The girls really rallied together and supported one another.  So grateful that she is alive and recovering.

One of our priesthood let his daughter paint his nails.  His wife made him take it off later that day though.  Funny story though: Him and another priesthood leader went to the hospital to give  the leader's husband a blessing (she already received one) and bring all her stuff to her.  They were carrying a purse and big bags and noticed that they were getting a few weird looks.  Then Bro L realized that Bro H had his nails painted and told him to quickly put his hands in his pockets. Hahahaha.

The older couple aka grandma and grandpa wisdom owned the property were stayed on and included in the picture is their daughter and two granddaughters.

This last picture has nothing to do with girl's camp.  I was waiting for Lily to get buckled up so I could start driving and she wasn't coming.  I finally went to see what the deal was and found her stuck.  She was not amused that I wanted to go get my camera and take a picture.
