Dance Recital, Teachers, Splash Pad, Free Fishing Day, And Such

Abby and Kyla had their dance recital back in May, they both did so good.  It was a long day and even longer night for them, especially Kyla, but they enjoyed it and have already asked me when they are going to start dancing again.  Kyla was especially cute on her first dance, she stopped about 4 times to just wave.  What made made it even funnier to us was that she was waving in the complete opposite direction of where all her family was sitting.  When I asked why she was waving over there she told me that the lights were so bright that she couldn't see where we were so she just waved.  Here are some pictures of my beautiful dancers.  They love posing!

Their dance teacher gave them a crown as a present that day so they wore them to church the next day, Mia of course did not want to be left out.

I meant to get a picture with her kindergarten teacher at the beginning of the year, but forgot so I finally brought my camera with me on one of the last days and got a picture.  Abby loved her teacher and loved school, she is excited to "sleep in" and play even more, but I know she misses it too.  Abby did really well in kindergarten too.  She surpassed all the benchmarks that kindergartners are suppose to reach and is reading at a first grade level.  She amazes me with how quickly she learns things.

Mia exhausts me on a daily basis, and it usually kicks in before lunch.  She is definitely hard to keep up with.  She will not keep clothes on, she does use the potty occasionally, but not consistently.  I've tried everything.  I have even resorted to taping her diapers on, she can get out of it!  She also has learned to open door and unlock doors.  Here is a picture of her trying to escape one day.  FYI a child lock does not work on this door handle and we put a chain on the top and she pulled it out of the wall.  My baby gate is blocking the bathroom door at the moment because she does lots of damage in there too.

So proud of herself for opening it.
North Logan opened a splash pad and we went to it one day with some friends, they enjoyed it.
There was a free fishing day last Saturday so we took the girls fishing.  Abby really enjoys it.
She even got to the point where she would cast the line out herself.

Kyla's first time fishing, poor thing had her mom helping her who was probably hilarious to watch try and figure stuff out.

We started on one side of the pond and saw some huge fish, but they weren't biting.  We saw some boys across the way keep catching fish so we moved over that way.  A guy right next to us caught a fish after we moved, he as nice enough to let us try his spot.  Abby was determined to catch a fish,  we were just going to catch and release, didn't come prepared to take a fish home (we don't eat fish after all) but when Abby caught her fish the fish swallowed the hook and died.  Abby was excited to catch a fish but sad that it died.
Abby is terrified to touch the fish, don't really blame her.
There was a lot of other activities going on too beside fishing, the girls each got a stamp that got painted and wanted me to take a picture of it.

Like I said before Mia likes to get into stuff.  Her she is with mascara on her eyes.  Right before church too.  Silly girl.  She is actually the only one of my girls to have ever gotten into my make up and put it on.
