August

Before school started up we wanted to fit in lots of fun.  Our bowling alley does free bowling for kids Mon-Fri so the girls went bowling.  Abby smoked everyone the first game, but Mia dominated the next.  We had the place to ourselves and it was a lot of fun.

We made a trip to Bear Lake, this was the only time we made it there this summer.  It was lots of fun as usual.  We didn't get to stay as long as we wanted because back to school night was that day and Abby had student council duties.

Abby was a greeter at back to school night and had to explain the games that were going on.  She also had to participate in getting dunked by other students. Hahahaha.

We also fit in a camping trip.  We went to Willow Flat.  We got there late on a Thursday night, and thank goodness for Eric's mom and sister for helping get some things ready for us cause other wise it would have been miserable, and we stayed until Sunday.

Mia was told by a lady in our ward that if she got up early enough she might get to see a moose.  So each morning she woke up early and either Eric or I took her on a walk in hopes to see a moose.  Never did though :( but the company was the best.

Carrying wood to help start the fire.

More sticks.

The girls also like to pretend that the sticks were horses and rode them around.

Sitting with Daddy.

Embarrassed that I took her picture sitting with Daddy.

Not embarrassed at all to get a picture with Daddy.
Friday morning after breakfast we went on a truck drive up to Gibson Lakes.  This was off-roading so they girls rode in the bed of the truck.  Lily wanted to be up front.  It was super bumpy and Mia ended up coming up front after too long.

Made it and ate our lunch we packed.
We walked around and taught the girls how to pee over a log and threw lots of rocks in the water.

Riding back.
Next day we hiked up to the head of the spring.

The girls crossed over to the other side and Eric followed.
Lily was not clean the entire time we were there and she loved every minute of it.
Warming up by the fire
Getting the other side warm.
We had visitors too, Eric's parents came and enjoyed a lazy afternoon with us and stayed for dinner.

I can't remember what night it was but Cheryl and Joey came over and brought popcorn for us to pop over the campfire.  We ate that and watched the meteor shower that was happening.  It was amazing.

Kyla tested for her blue belt and earned it. It is fun to watch her improve.

Mia had some fun the week before school started.  Her and Kyla were playing and Kyla was swinging her around in the living room and she ended up hitting the couch.  She cried a lot and said her arm hurt really bad.  It looked normal so we waited for a little while to see if she'd improve, but she didn't and it was getting later so Eric took her to Instacare.  Turned out she had a buckle fracture.  She ended up being in a splint for a little over a month and getting x-rays twice.

We made it to the fair this year. We took the girls to the rodeo, I think that they were still a little young because they were so tired by the end.  Lily fell asleep and missed some of it and the others really wanted to watch the bull riding, which of course was at the end so they were impatiently waiting and asking constantly when it was coming.  Abby's favorite part was at the very end when they let all the horses run free in the arena.

The next day we went to a tractor pull, cause Eric really wanted to.  It was alright, just so S.L.O.W.  And walked around and went on rides.

I was so hot sitting there that I created a makeshift hat to protect me from the sun.

Got some treats.
School started!  All day these girls are in school and they love it and their teachers!
1st grade, Mrs. Obray's class.

3rd grade, Mrs. Wilkey's class.

5th grade, Mr. Darrington's class--last year of elementary :(

I make Lily hold my hand when we cross streets or are walking in the parking lot, sometimes she hates it and fights me.  This day she came up with a genius solution, she can hold her own hand.

Kyla getting her blue belt presented to her.
